Ah, the transition from crib to bed. Life’s such a joy.
We came across this sleek looking todddler bed — yes, as in for small children — over at Heather’s Dooce.com. This thing looks nice. Low to the ground… shoot, if it were bigger, we’d buy it ourselves! (Unfortunately, our feet would share space on the bench/bookshelf thing. Ah, well.)
We love the design. So smooth. It looks almost like you could side the end out further to make more room, or slide it in for storage. Of course they haven’t invented that kind of mattress (at least, not that we know of) yet, but great design. Close to the floor too, so if your little one is having trouble adjusting (read: falling out of bed), it isn’t as far to go!
You can find this bed all over the internet, but Dooce recommended (and when the lady speaks, we listen. If we didn’t, she might throw a tequila bottle at us. Or send Chuck after us.) ToddlerBeds.com, where you’ll find this bed for $199 shipped free. Free shipping. On a bed. Seriously.
Good luck with the transition with Leta, Heather!

Husbands, you do remember Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, right?
And as hilarious some of these anti-Valentine’s are… you are probably better off getting your wife and mother of your children a gift. A little something.
Roses? Nah. They get expensive this time of year. Chocolate? Same thing.
Why not get her something unique that she can cherish?
This sterling pendant from FancyJewels.com is really unique. You e-mail them a regular .jpg photo of something, anything (hint, try your baby boy or girl). They shrink it down to size, and cover the photo with a clear quartz stone. Pretty nifty, and she won’t find it at the department store (at least not with her own child’s photo in it!).
Only $90 at FancyJewels.com ($105 if you want to add text to the pendant). Also, ladies — please note that you can’t take a shower/bath or go swimming with this on. It is not waterproof!

Ladies, Valentine’s Day is just around the corner.
We know, we know… Polka Dot Nursing Gown is not exactly the sexiest phrase this side of the lingerie aisle, but please bear with us. Wait wait, save that bearing for your husbands…
For starters, the brand of this gown is Belabumbum, which just happens to mean “beautiful bottom” in Portuguese.
The design of the gown is relatively simple. Nothing too fancy that your husband will need an instruction manual for. As noted in the photo, it is covered in your choice of blue or pink polka dots.
Made of soft cotton, the gown comes with easy, one-hand clasps that makes nursing a snap.
Only $60 at BabyStyle.com!
