Moms need cell phones to stay in touch with the whole family, right? Okay sure, maybe your infant that is just learning to walk doesn’t need one quite yet… but the day will come. Maybe this isn’t your first child? You and hubby need to stay in touch too. You’ve got that whole extended family thing going on — and they need to know when the baby comes!
I don’t have any babies in my life, but I recently got married (hooray!). My wife was on her family’s Sprint share plan, while I had an individual plan through Verizon. Obviously we needed to consolidate to one provider. I wanted to upgrade my phone while we were at it at no charge, if that was possible.
If you go through a retail store, or directly to the provider’s website, this is not going to happen. They’ll let you upgrade your monthly plan alright, but you won’t be getting any free phones. More monthly fees plus $130 cell phone for one person plus no second phone upgrade… not quite the deal we were looking for.
Enter online cell phone authorized resellers such as Wirefly. I was amazed at the deals you could get on these sites. Through Wirefly, I could get two LG VX8600s (the next one up from the famous Chocolate), a family share plan with 700 minutes, for the price of shipping after rebates. Yup, I could get two $200 phones (retail) for free after rebates. Genius. This was with Verizon, but they also have Cingular phones.
I canceled my Verizon account through a well blogged about clause in their contracts stating that if they change the terms of the service, you could cancel your contract without paying the early termination fee — $175! They recently (March 1st) changed a part of the contract in regards to text message rates, so I took advantage and canceled. I had until the end of February to find new service, so find new service I did. While I did not end up using Wirefly’s service, I used one very similar in nature and would highly recommend purchasing your new phones and plan through an authorized, well blogged about, online reseller.
I would also note that Wirefly is on Inc. Magazine’s “Inc. 500” list – a listing of the fastest growing companies in America. An amazing accomplishment. Who knew? Just selling phones and plans online! They must have pretty good customer service as well to have grown that quickly.
If you look around they have lots of different options. Individual plans, share plans, discounted accessories. Overall, a well done site.

Zac and Zoe are selling something that we would call… a large cotton flannel seat pillow contraption for kids. Fair enough? Mini Poofs.
Their website also doesn’t share a ton of information of what exactly they are used for. Nonetheless, the designs are very interesting.
The site does mention they are imported from Morocco, and designed by Moulay Essakalli and Julie Klear. Their work has been showed cased around the country in museums and art galleries.
Artistic, somewhat famous, soft, and fun for your kids. Give it a shot.
Only $78 at Zac and Zoe (free shipping!), where you will also find an image of a girl playing in a pile of Mini Poofs. This should help you with figuring out how large they are.
